-What inspired you to start blogging?

I decided blogging would be a great way to connect with other aspiring authors like myself and it was a great decision. I have met so many wonderful and talented people through blogging.

How did you come up with the name of your blog?

Mine was simple...I used the title of my debut saga!

What is your favorite blog that you like to read?

I really enjoy tiffanylovesbooks! I love her "about me" page. She is a person I would love to hang out with and her book reviews are spot on!

Tell about your dream job.

Writing fiction is what I dream about and aspire to be extraordinary at! It is the one thing that I do that is almost effortless and it is what gives me the most personal satisfaction when doing it.

Is your glass half full or half empty?

Half full definitely! I am always the optimist in any given situation. Is there any other way to be?

If you could go anywhere for a week’s vacation, where would you go?

To a secluded mountain cabin with a roaring fire, a glass of wine, and a good book!

What food can you absolutely not eat?

Sushi for sure! Raw is meant for veggies not meat or fish no matter how trendy it has become to dive into sushi...I won't succumb!

Dark chocolate or milk chocolate?

Milk chocolate! I know it isn't the healthy way to go but it is smooth and creamy and simply heaven in my mouth :) I just read that back and please people keep your minds out of the gutter!!!! LOL

How much time do you spend blogging?

Not as much as I should, I'd have to admit. This is all new for me. I'm a little bit older and still learning about all of the many tools available for networking with social media but I am doing my best to keep up and learning as I go.  Thank you S.K. Anthony :)

Love TV! My favorite shows are...please don't judge...The Bachelor, Scandal (my absolute favorite!), Nashville, Revenge, Grey's Anatomy, Once Upon A Time, & The Voice! I'm an addict...I confess.

Unveiling of "Descended"

So today I revamped the cover of my first book "Descended (Fallen Guardian Saga #1)." While I loved the original cover, I am curious to see if my change will capture the attention of the YA readers.  I had a few fans on Goodreads suggest that placing a "beautiful girl" or "hot guy" on the cover would make the book more appealing to young adults. It will be interesting to see the outcome of this theory I am testing. If sales pick up...I'll let you all know! Here is the new cover for "Descended."

1 ~ What is your favorite genre of book? 
I don't have a favorite genre per se, although I feel a natural draw to fantasy. I love a story that makes me want desperately to turn another page and one that keeps me on my toes.

2 ~ Do you have any pets?  If so, what kind?
Yes. I am the proud owner of a 3 year old Golden-doodle named Maggie May Miller. Best dog I have ever owned!

3 ~ What is your favorite thing to do?
That's simple, I absolutely love to cook. I love finding great new recipes on Pintrest!


4 ~ Have you ever been on a vacation?  What is the furthest place you have visited?
I have taken a few vacations but the furthest place that I have traveled to is probably Jamaica. "Yeah Man!"

5 ~ Who is your biggest supporter?
Hands down my Mom but I do have many runners up for title of biggest supporters. There is my wonderful husband, my two sisters and my children. All of my family gives me their unwavering support which helps in the competitive world of "Indie Authors."

6 ~ What is your biggest pet peeve?
Well if you check my answer to #5 in "Random Things About Me," you will see I admitted to having OCD. My pet peeve would be dirty dishes in a sink....Can't tolerate it!

7 ~ Do you prefer books or movies?
Books!!!! I'm sorry, was there actually another choice for this question? Always books, although I do enjoy movies.
8 ~ What is on the top of your bucket list?
Buying a book I authored off  a shelf at Barnes & Noble. Oh and I would love to learn a new language. I'm thinking "French?" Ooh La La... does it sound sexy to anyone one else other than me?

9 ~ If you were stranded on a desert island and could only have one thing, what would it be?
A book, "Twilight" preferably so I could entertain myself in the daylight reading it and also entertain myself at night with thoughts of Edward in my dreams! Okay, that sounded really lame so maybe I should take a funny book instead to keep myself laughing about the situation. Because if I were stranded on a deserted island I would probably be crying my eyes out. Laughter through tears my favorite emotion, so yes funny book definitely!

10 ~ Who is your biggest fictional crush?
Flynn Rider from the Disney Movie, "Tangled." Best movie ever!!!

11 ~ Do you believe that you can judge a book by its cover?

So the launch of my second book in the "Fallen Guardian Saga" is going well. I just finished my outline for the third and final book of the saga and I have a little down time before I put it to paper. I really need to catch up on some reading, I miss it a ton. My focus is going to be on reading and reviewing first time author material. Hi Everyone!

So I just read something from a new author who expressed some concerns about publishing her first book. It seems that she, like so many of us, is worried about what others might say about her work after reading it. Negative reviews are never fun but unfortunately they do come with the territory. I've learned to look beneath the often harsh words and try to find out what the reader really didn't like about my book. Then, I decide if I need to do something about it or just let it go. Sometimes those negative reviews are actually helpful, if you can read between the lines and sometimes...well... people are really just that mean! Take it from me, you will learn to develop a thicker skin as you go along. For now, try to enjoy the great accomplishment of putting your story to print. Just my thoughts...
